The Mall??....Not Quite!!

This morning we were on a mission. The knob in our van that controls the flow of air had broken this week and we needed to replace it. We first went to NAPA to find a knob. They had a universal one that didn't really work. So, we went to the junk yard (much like the one pictured). It was hilarious! We parked, but weren't sure if we were in the 'parking' area or the 'junk' area. Then we saw a concession stand. We got a chuckle out of that. So, we entered the building/office. There you had to sign in. Not only did you have to sign in but kids under 16 couldn't go into the actual 'junk yard'. So, I stayed with the kids. They gave everyone popcorn. There were people coming and going it really looked like a mall! Finally, after seeing so many people coming and going with their bag of tools I thought, 'You know, people may mistake our van for a vehicle to use.' I certainly didn't want to go out and find our van taken apart...so, out I headed with the 3 kids and two bags of popcorn! It was sooo funny...and the best part? Jason found a knob. It works to turn it, but you have to turn it the opposite way and it doesn't really fit...I told Jason 'It's our little conversation piece!' It was a very fun experience!

That place looks huge!!! I can see why they don't allow kids under 16 inside. What a price deal. Can't go wrong shopping there and free popcorn too.

I'm afraid I wouldn't have thought of going back to our vehicle until it had been sripped clean! What a good story! You'll never be able to go to a regular junk yard again, now that you've been to the best:)

What a good chuckle I got out of your story. I know exactly what you mean. We have gone the "mall" up in south dakota and I did have the thought that someone might start on our vechicle if we leave it. They probably didn't what to be responsible for losing anybody that was too little in that mess.
