Really...You don't see the problem?
I was reading this article (can't remember where it was at on the web) but it was about this 3 year old who is obsessed with her looks. She is constantly checking herself in the mirror, wanting make-up, throwing huge fits when her mom doesn't get her make-up, and then...the part that made me the angriest, was that her Mother was wondering why her daughter was like that but the article said her (the 3 year olds) favorite magazine: Victoria's Secret! I could NOT believe my eyes! I get embarrassed just looking at pictures like that and I am an adult. So, really, she doesn't see the problem. I am so beyond thankful that my life is not about looks. Realizing women always struggle with appearance and I am no different. However, my life as a child of God is about glorifying Him, not me. It is about having a growing relationship with Christ and continually striving to be more like Him and who He has me to be. It amazes me that the most beautiful people are those who live their lives to glorify Christ. Their every being is striving to be like Him. Not about their next hair cut/color, the newest fashions etc. But about Him. My prayer is that my daughters don't focus their time on their appearance. Yes, we desire them to look their best. But we do not want them to be centered around looks. Centered around Christ is where they need to be. And, of course that is our desire and prayer for Jake as well. That he desires a wife who radiates Christ. Beautiful or ugly, she will be beautiful if she glorifies Him.

It's absurd and mind boggling to me that moms can't see why their children act the way they do! I know that mine are not perfect, and that I don't see everything, but when it's that obvious, you would think they would catch a clue. But, sad to say the mom probably acts the same way. I am so thankful that I don't have to be caught up in all of that! That Christ has given me the freedom to be free from it! I pray the same as you!
