Home-made...top to bottom!

As today is Jason's birthday he requested homemade angel food cake! So, if no one has made it... you need a dozen eggs to get the whites. That's a process. To make it easier I crack them and separate the egg white out into a separate bowl and then pour the white into the main bowl. This way if a yoke happens to fall into it also then I don't waste a bunch of egg whites, just one. I am so glad I did that because I dropped one yoke in it and then....so GROSS...I cracked open an egg and it was bloody!! About made me sick. I called Jason to come see. I always wonder when I'll crack one open to find a little chick going 'chirp chirp'. This was close enough if you ask me. Then, I cracked an egg of twins, as I called it. Two yokes...means twins in my book. Boy, I was glad when the egg cracking was finished!! The cake turned out good (although not the one pictured above) and it's been a nice birthday for Jason. I love making home-made things because they taste so yummy. I am glad I was taught how to make home-made angel food cake!

When I was little angel food cake with '7 minute' frosting was our special birthday treat. I LOVE angel food cake - especially your homemade variety. Hope Jason had a great birthday. I thought about him all day and how excited we were the day he was born...We are SO proud of him.

I liked your new slide show too. It was fun to see Jake into crafting.
