Paying my bill

A few weeks ago I had a mild fender bender. It really could have been aweful. It was my fault because I ran a red light. Anyway, I received a ticket, but the officer 'toned it down' since I was completely honest about the deal. So, today I decided was the day to go pay up and I told Jason, 'I am going to go pay my bill.' We thought that was so funny because it's not a bill, it's a traffic violation ticket. And we laughed because of how funny it would be to go in and say 'I'm here to pay my bill.' Well...we thought it was funny even if no one else does :) So, a few lessons learned from my little accident: be careful while driving and talking on cell phones. (I generally am careful about that, but now am more so) and be honest. The officer said that 9 times out of 10 in a fender bender/accident like mine the guilty party will say that the light was still yellow. I told him it certainly was red and it was completely my fault. And, finally, make sure your hair is fixed and make-up in place because you never know who you'll run in to. My goodness, I crack myself up!!

Leah, you are too funny. I had a very similar experience about three years ago. I was totally distracted about something very very major that was going on in my life. I wasn't paying any attention to the speed limit. The cop literally stepped out in the street to stop me. I was going 45 in a 30....not safe at all. I told exactly why I had no idea how fast I was going. He thanked me for my honesty but told me that I was going way to fast to "lighten my ticket" LOL So I got the full blown ticket.

The only time I've had a fender bender was on the day I was going to get my senior pix done! I ran right into my mom at a stop sign! I was making sure my nails looked good. There was a guy that saw the whole thing and told my mom as she got out of the car that he would be a witness because he saw the whole thing! It was quite a day!=)

That is too funny, Trina and Tarin. Glad I am not the only one with a 'story' :)

Okay Leah, This is not good because you are starting to sound like Melanie when you wrote, "I crack myself up."

I had a fender bender in high school, which was not my fault, but much too long of a story here. Maybe I'll blog about it. Pretty funny. I did have a speeding thing . . . when I was coming home from a friend's house late at night I was going "too fast for conditions" (raining). The officer pulled me over (more about the fact he HAD to pull me over later) and asked me what I was up to so late at night. I told him I was a teacher and had been grading projects at a friend's house. He told me he could never teacher 8th graders and that I have a harder job than him and gave me a WARNING! I love it! And yes, I CRACK MYSELF UP!

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like
you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the
message home a little bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog.
A great read. I'll definitely be back.
