First day of Kindergarten!!

Blessing Blessing Blessing! To think that nearly 5 years ago we were told she may have severe brain damage and/or seizures...released remarkably early and all the doctors called her the miracle baby. It's hard not to think on that on days like today. Her very first day of kindergarten. Without an ounce of brain damage and more energy than 10 children!! We awoke shortly after 6am and Jason said to me that the girl's light was on. He peaked in and found Bailey fully dressed with her new school clothes and shoes on and her extremely heavy back-pack on. Sitting quietly with crossed legs at her tea table...holding her baby. She was sooo excited!! Her choice of breakfast: Krispy Kream donuts. Off to school we all went. She shed a few tears when we left but when we picked her up she gave us big hugs with a huge smile and told us how much she liked it!! 'And Mrs. Roper tied my bow!!!' (in the back of her dress).
Another blessing: the other day she and I were having a discussion about Heaven and who goes to Heaven etc. She asked me, 'Mom, do the kids in my class know Jesus?' I said, 'I don't know. But you can tell them about Him.' A soft heart for the things of God! It doesn't get much better than that!!!

Oh, Leah! I'm so glad you blogged again. I've missed it so much. The pictures are just outstanding! SO MUCH FUN! I'm so proud of your little precious girl starting kindergarten. How exciting! Be sure to celebrate big! Maybe mommy needs some Krispy Kreme :-)

Yes...some more Krispy Kreme for me!! Any excuse works! Funny thing: I said to Bailey 'So, where do you want to go for lunch (hoping for Chilies) and she said 'McD's'. I should have guessed that one! It was fun and that's all that matters.

What great pictures!!! I loved them all.

I thought about her birth day (and first few weeks) on Baileys birthday and today when she started school. What a miracle!!

Thank you for posting such sweet pictures. I love them all.

The first day of school is special for all children but it doesn't get better than the first day of kindergarten. I love the story of her all dressed with her back pack on ready to go. It brought tears to my eyes:) She is, indeed, a little miracle and we are extremely proud of her.

I am blessed that she has a missionary's heart.

I remember Bailey's birth like it was yesterday. It still makes my eyes water. What a miracle she is. She is soooooo far from challenged. God was good to her.
