HMC and Sleep...less...ness

This week was our HMC (Home Missions Conference). It was very exciting to be a part of it more this year. My second year with it and Jason's first (he was gone last year). I was in charge of Toddler II and really enjoyed preparing for it and doing it. The biggest blessing to me for the week was all the willing helpers I had. They just checked in with me and were more than ready to help out. The other BIG blessing was my 'little guy' that was quite the 'experience' this week. The blessing was that he was able to stay in our class all night last night! Thursday night was the most smooth night I had this week. I am thankful for that. I was just so excited my 'little guy' was able to join us all night! Did I mention that already??? Well...it was so exciting! It isn't always the 'big' things that make me stop and realize the blessings. At least that's what I am learning. Sometimes it is just the little things that make me step back and smile.

Okay...for a different story. Today we (I, Jake, Tayler) were at Walmart and I finally had my first BIG experience of witnessing a HUGE wild fit from another child. I looked at the kids and they looked at me and I said, 'we don't act like that, do we.' 'Noooo' Tayler said. she then went on to say 'That's ugly'. Then a little later (the fit lasted a good 10 minutes or so and could be heard across our Walmart (which is HUGE)...Tayler said, 'You know what God says, Mom?' 'What's that, Sweetie?' 'We have to be good.' 'That's right'. I happened to turn my head and there was a lady nearby that heard Tayler say that. She smiled at me and I smiled back. Out of the mouths of babes...

And the picture??....that was me this morning after a week of HMC....

sounds like you have quite a kid. It's so nice when they are good. By the way, you are a pretty woman, Leah.

Thanks for sharing those stories, Leah. As a children's ministries director, I really like it when I hear people say that they not only volunteer for something, but take charge of it. And to top it off, it is something you enjoy and have a heart for. That is great. I hope you get lots of rest this weekend.
