May 1st

Okay...so 5 weekends in a row of dreary weather is a bit on my nerves, but I have been enjoying the sunshine in between! Flowers in pots, raised garden bed ready for seeds, and the grass...somewhat...greening up! And the anticipation of the summer to come!

We can NOT believe Bailey is finishing up her kindergarten year the end of May! How it has gone so fast! We are so thankful for her teachers and all the hard work they spend teaching her everything she needs to know. And preparing her for 1st grade! I wish we could just keep her teachers each year. But, I am certain we will love the next teachers just as much!

I am looking forward to having her home for the summer! Enjoying each moment of their lives has been a goal. Never to say, 'I can't wait for them to get to this age'. They will be grown and gone before we know it!

Jason's been traveling more this Spring than he did for the tax season. Although, by God's grace, it's been easier than last years travels. We are thankful for his job, his boss, and all the opportunities that go with it! And how God has been teaching us along the way. I remember, in Nebraska, when Jason went away for one week and I was just in a quandry on how I was going to handle it...and my Mom even came to stay with me and the kids...and now he leaves on a regular basis and it gets easier little by little. (granted...some times it is not easy, but you get the point).

I was reminded this week of the song 'When I am tried and purified, I shall come forth as gold'. Ohhhh...how exciting to know that God works in our lives with trials and different 'valleys' to continually refine us into His image. How exciting that we are to be refined into His image and not someone elses! Gives me excitement enough to jump up and down!!

Jake's talking more and more all the time! I call him our 'chatty georgy' (as 'chatty patty' is girly). He is going to be our natural athlete (okay...he already is). I ask him: 'You will play for the Rockies, right? Right? Right?' Hey...we want a nice nursing home when we are old! And free tickets along the way! :)

Tayler is 4 and a Momma's girl. And a Daddy's girl. She likes to be home with everyone. Jason calls her her mother's child! :) She has a sweet spirit and a sense of humor! She is our little artsy one! She loves to draw and actually does a good job. It's fun to watch each of their talents. Jake: athletics Bailey: gymnastics Tayler: arts/crafts.

We've had fun meeting our neighbors this Spring! We have a couple kids around our kid's ages that enjoy coming over to play. The kids LOVE that!

Anyway...God's blessed us beyond our dreams and continues to do so. Mostly we are just thankful for all He's taught us and all He is teaching us and will teach us!

This is a fun update, Leah. I like hearing about how all the kids are growing and changing and how you are too. I am so impressed with how well you do with holding down the fort in all of Jason's travels. It is truly impressive!!

Let's get one thing straight. If you plan to live well when you are old and think Jake will pay for it, he better choose a different team to play for than the Rockies. You could hardly afford a hot dog if he played for them.
I enjoyed seeing Jason last week when he was working in Spokane. It is always fun when he comes here.

Oh, shut up, Phil :) You are too funny! ha ha!!

Yes, Jason had a wonderful time with you all as well. He always enjoys going there! Someday we'll go with him and see you all as well!
