I ditched the pattern since I couldn't understand it and it was WAY too big! I took a pair of Jake's pj pants and used that for the pattern. I ripped out a couple wrong stitches, but in the end they turned out and Jake has only taken them off for heading to the store/library :) I would say they are a success!

That would definitely count as a success! They look great, and very smart of you to ditch the pattern and go from ones that already fit him well.
