Rag Wreath Tutorial

I love these wreaths!  I finally decided to buckle down and make one for myself.  So...I went into my scrap fabric and dug out a number of different fun prints.  Some bright, some neutral, and some dark.  I cut them into 1 inch by 7 inch strips (I can't tell you the exact amount of fabric I used, but I just cut until I figured I had enough)
This is the scrap strips in a pile.  That's all of them.  I put a regular wire hanger out so you can see what I used.  I also show here the wire hanger shaped into a circle.  I used pliers to do this. (eventually I cut off the hook part, so you can feel free to do that before you start tying).  I then tied the strips on, in no particular order.  You don't want to have all the same colors bunched together, though.  Use variety.  I didn't even knot them.  Just one tie. (My daughter, Tayler, was home sick *which is a whole other story for another day* from school and so she helped tie some on.  Perfect craft for kids!)
This is the end result!  I LOVE IT!  It is hanging on our Master Bedroom Door.  I just thought our door needed a littler 'perkiness' to it.  And this is so cheerful I just smile when I see it.
Have fun making your own rag wreath.  It was FREE for me!

I love the wreath. The colors and fabrics are really pretty together.

Another pretty teacher! Taylers hair has really grown long. Look at all those curls/waves. What was her favorite part of being 'teacher of the day'?

Tayler's curls are from being braided wet the night before. She wanted it braided so it would be curly. :) Although I know she has lots of gorgeous curls in her hair! She enjoyed stapling papers together and being called "Miss Coleman" :)
