...not to get distracted...

When we first started this house building project it was my prayer to not let that distract me from God. I prayed that the house and the excitement of it would not get placed in front of God in my life. I didn't want to live on the excitement of that and then neglect my walk with Him. And, now as there is more progress more frequently it is my fervent prayer again. It is so easy to let the exciting things in life take the front spot in our lives and put God behind that. (idolatry is another 'word' for it...) I am very excited about our house and watching it being built, moving in and all that goes with that. But, more important than that is my personal relationship with Christ. I want Him to be front and center in my life and the house (or other things) to be off to the side, so to speak. He is the Only lasting fulfilment.
