I love thinking back on memories. Right now I am baking chocolate chip cookies. The recipe Mom used when we were growing up. I enjoyed baking cookies and baking things I concocted in the kitchen. I am sure it was a mess, but Mom let me do it!
I remember Mom and I having a discussion a few years ago about baking and we discussed that it isn't so much the recipe as it is the baker. Many times it's how the item is baked that makes all the difference. My Mom's a GREAT baker. She's got the Baker's Touch, as I call it. My Mom can bake anything and it's good. Maybe this is why I LOVE baking now: many great memories of baking cookies, cakes etc at home with Mom!!

And - if we let one batch of cookies get just a bit too brown that was great because those were dad's favorites!
Yes...so he can dunk them!
I have the cookie recipe we used growing up memorized, the only hard part is that I think it's quadrupled! Big family and all!=) There is always enough to go around that's for sure!
My mom, too, was a wonderful cook. It was an area she was gifted in. She truly enjoyed looking at recipes and trying new things. I miss her...
