Yesterday (Monday) was the Christmas decorating day for us. I thought I could get it done in one day. Not so. But, we were able to accomplish the tree decorating. The little tree (of which we had in our Enlgewood home...remember the size????) is up in the family room and that's the kid's tree. The one in the front room is the 6 foot tree. It was lots of fun decorating and the kids LOVED every second of it.
Headless Shepherds...you ask? Yes. Let me tell you about that. (of which I can kind of chuckle about now). When Bailey was a baby my Mom gave us a manger scene that the kids could play with. She played well with it and then when Tayler came along, she played well with it. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL....Jake is NOT a dainty girl and he is most certainly ALL boy. I let him play with it. I went upstairs. Heard some noise and laughter and didn't think too much of it. Then Tayler yelled up 'Mom, Jake's throwing baby Jesus'. GREAT! I finish what I'm doing. Still not thinking a whole lot of it. Until I come down and see the head of a shepherd on the floor. The head of a camel in another spot. Arms off some of them. Nope, Joseph no longer has arms. I was a bit perterbed about this. Still am. Oh well. I threw out the non-recoverable ones and kept the rest. Though they may not all have arms...or heads. The kids still like to play with them. Although I am a bit more watchful of Jake when he's playing with them.

That's such a funny story! Your tree is so pretty. Was it fun to decorate one so big in your new home?
I guess that is the final proof that Jake is ALL boy. :) Not that we questioned it but it was interesting to hear how differently they play.
Your trees are pretty.
Your tree looks amazing! I'm very ready to get ours up, but we have to get it first! I think Fri. or Sat. might be the day!=) Boys will be boys won't they! I'm always amazed at the different ways girls and boys play...I think I like the girl way better...it's quieter (most of the time), there is nothing being thrown, noises are very limited, and most of the time things are not being taken apart to see how they work or broken!=)
What a funny story! Your tree looks great and I enjoyed seeing pictures of your Thanksgiving weekend. I'm impressed that you women joined the early shopping crowd-I've never been brave enough:)
Oh my Leah. That is quite hilarious if I do say so myself. I was cracking up. Perhaps there should have been a funeral?
I didn't think of a funeral. Fitting? did you mean for the shepherd or the murderer??? :)
I want to see pics of the decapitated nativity scene.
